Surface Preparation & Application
A rich matte finish rewards good preparation and exposes poor preparation. The depth of surface that makes this emulsion attractive also means any unevenness beneath it reads clearly under raking light — so on the walls where this product belongs, the substrate work matters as much as the paint.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose material, and flaking paint. New plaster must be fully cured before painting.
Fill and level thoroughly. Gobi’s Gold Wall Putty is the matching product, and on feature walls it is worth taking the sanding further than usual — check the surface under angled light before sealing.
Seal with Gobi’s Gold Wall Sealer to control absorption. This step is not optional under a premium topcoat: unsealed plaster absorbs unevenly, and no quality of emulsion corrects for that.
Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray, thinning with clean water as directed on the pack. Maintain a wet edge throughout each wall to avoid lap marks — with a deep matte finish, lap marks are difficult to disguise. Two coats deliver the best colour depth. Clean equipment with water immediately after use.
