Two enamels can produce very different results on the same door, and the difference usually comes down to how the paint behaves in the minutes after it leaves the brush.

Surface Preparation & Application
Gloss reflects every flaw beneath it, and a premium gloss reflects them more clearly than a budget one. Preparation determines the result more than the paint does.
On metal: remove all rust, scale, and loose material back to sound bright metal, then degrease thoroughly. Apply a rust-inhibiting primer before the enamel — ICI Dulux Red Oxide Metal Primer is the matching product in the range. Enamel over unprimed steel fails from corrosion beneath, regardless of how good the finish looks initially.
On wood: sand along the grain and remove all dust. Fill nail holes and defects with wood filler, allow to dry, and sand flush. Prime bare timber to seal it and provide an even base.
On previously painted surfaces: remove loose and flaking material, then sand existing gloss to provide a key. Fresh enamel will not bond reliably to an unsanded glossy surface.
Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush or spray, thinning with the appropriate thinner as directed on the pack. Work in thin, even coats and lay off in one direction for the smoothest result — thick application runs and sags on vertical surfaces and slows curing considerably. Two coats give the best depth and durability, with light sanding between coats. Allow full drying between coats. Clean equipment with the recommended thinner immediately after use.
