Application Guidance
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose material, and flaking paint. New plaster must be fully cured before filling — if moisture is still coming out of the plaster, the filler and everything above it will fail together.
Mix with clean water to a smooth, workable consistency following the ratio on the pack. Mix thoroughly and let it stand briefly so the material hydrates evenly.
Apply with a putty knife or steel blade in thin, even layers. Two thin coats consistently beat one thick one — thick applications shrink and crack as they dry, creating more work than they save. Allow each coat to dry completely before the next.
Once fully dry, sand with appropriate abrasive paper until smooth and level. On ceilings, check the sanded surface under angled light before moving on; flaws invisible under direct light become obvious once painted.
