The Stage Most Worth Not Skipping
On budget-driven projects, sealing is the first thing people cut. It is almost always the wrong cut to make.
Bare plaster and sanded putty are porous. Emulsion applied over them without sealing soaks in unevenly — heavily in open areas, barely at all in denser patches. The visible result is blotchy colour and inconsistent sheen. The financial result is worse: the wall swallows the first coat entirely, then needs a third and sometimes fourth coat to look acceptable.
Sealer costs less per litre than emulsion. Spending on one coat of sealer instead of two extra coats of topcoat is straightforwardly cheaper — and produces a better wall. On large-area projects where the numbers scale, this single decision often makes more difference to the total paint bill than which emulsion tier you choose.
Adhesion is the other half of it. A sealed, stabilised surface gives the topcoat something consistent to grip, which is what determines whether the paint is still sound in three years or already flaking at the edges.

Surface Preparation & Application
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose material, and flaking paint. New plaster must be fully cured before sealing — the most common shortcut on Karachi sites, and the most common cause of coating failure.
Where the wall has been puttied, sand smooth and remove all sanding dust thoroughly. Wipe down rather than brushing off; residual dust prevents the sealer bonding properly, and it costs nothing to avoid.
For walls needing filling as well as sealing, apply Gobi’s Summer Wall Filling first, allow to dry completely, and sand level.
Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray, thinning with clean water as directed on the pack. One coat is normally sufficient; very absorbent surfaces may need a second. Allow to dry fully before topcoating. Clean equipment with water immediately after use.
