Berger Silk Emulsion — Acrylic Silk Interior Paint in Karachi
Berger Silk Emulsion is an acrylic interior emulsion from Berger Paints. Available at Saify Paint House, an official Berger Paints stockist in DHA Karachi, it gives interior walls a silk lustre finish.
Berger describes it as a low-odour emulsion with high stain resistance and outstanding water resistance. It suits living areas, bedrooms, corridors, and other rooms where walls get regular use.
Why Choose a Silk Lustre Finish
A silk finish has a soft sheen that sits between matt and gloss. Compared with a flat matt, it is easier to wipe, which helps in rooms with children, frequent visitors, or busy hallways.
Because sheen shows more of the wall beneath it, preparation matters. Fill, sand, and prime properly, and the finished surface looks smooth and even.

Surface Preparation & Application
The surface must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose material, and flaking paint. New plaster must cure fully before painting.
Fill cracks and uneven areas with a suitable wall putty and sand smooth. A suitable interior primer helps control absorption so the silk finish looks even across the wall. Our team can recommend one for your surface.
Stir well before use and thin as directed on the pack. Berger states the paint dries within about one hour, and the room can be reoccupied in 2 to 3 hours. Berger recommends applying Silk Emulsion by roller or spray. Follow the coat count and recoat times on the pack, and clean your rollers, spray equipment, and tools with water straight after use.
Common Mistakes With Silk Emulsion
The most common one is painting over an unprepared wall. Sheen picks up every patch of filler and trowel mark, so a wall that looks fine under matt can look uneven under silk.
Applying the next coat before the previous one has dried can cause patchy colour. Stopping halfway across a wall and restarting later leaves a visible join, so work wall by wall and keep a wet edge.
Care and Cleaning
Let the paint cure fully before cleaning it. Berger describes the finish as washable. Wipe marks with a soft damp cloth or sponge, avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals, and deal with marks early before they dry in. Keep a little leftover paint, labelled with colour and date, for touch-ups.
Choosing Between Berger Interior Emulsions
Saify Paint House stocks several Berger interior emulsions. Silk Emulsion is the everyday silk option. For a more decorative silk, ask about Berger Elegance Desire Silk Touch. For a flat, non-reflective look, ask about Berger Elegance Matt Emulsion. For large projects with cost in mind, our team can show you the SPD Semi Plastic Emulsion and NU Emulsion. Visit our Berger Paints range to compare them.
Where damp or seepage is present, treat the cause before painting. See our Ressichem building care and waterproofing range.
Planning Your Project
Measure the wall area and use Berger’s coverage figure to estimate how much paint you need. Our team can work it out for you. Buy enough for the whole room at once, because shades can vary slightly between batches. Berger shades come from the Berger Fandeck, and we can mix custom shades in-store at our Multi Colour Centre.
