Jotun Stucco Putty — Wall Putty and Filler in Karachi
Jotun Stucco Putty is a PVA copolymer filler formulated to conceal cracks and surface imperfections before painting. Available at Saify Paint House, your authorized Jotun Paints dealer in Karachi since 1999, it performs across cement plaster, stucco, gypsum board, concrete, and woodwork — creating the smooth, level surface a quality paint finish depends on.
It is the preparation stage in the Jotun system, and the one that determines how well everything above it performs. Used across residential and commercial projects throughout DHA, Clifton, and greater Karachi.
Why the Filler Stage Decides the Finish
Plaster in Karachi construction is rarely delivered paint-ready. Trowel marks, pinholes, hairline cracks, and minor undulations are normal — and emulsion applied straight over them highlights every one, particularly on walls catching side light from a window.
Putty fixes this at the cheapest possible stage. A properly applied and sanded layer gives a flat, consistent surface, so the topcoat sits on something uniform rather than following whatever the plasterer left behind. Filler costs a fraction of what premium emulsion does per square foot, and no amount of additional topcoat will create smoothness the substrate does not have.
This matters most where you have specified a premium paint. Applying Fenomastic Pure Colours over an uneven wall produces an expensive-looking uneven wall — the finish quality of the paint cannot exceed the flatness of what it covers.
The PVA copolymer formulation gives Stucco Putty an unusually broad working range. Most fillers handle one substrate type well; this one covers cement plaster, gypsum board, concrete, and woodwork. On a typical interior where plaster walls, a gypsum ceiling, and timber trim all meet in one room, using a single filler simplifies both the work and the ordering — and avoids visible differences in finish where materials adjoin.
Ceilings deserve particular attention. They receive the least forgiving light in any room, and an unfilled ceiling shows every plaster imperfection once painted, regardless of what emulsion goes on it.
Jotun has manufactured paints and coatings since 1926 and operates in over 100 countries. Full technical specifications for this product are available on the official Jotun website.

Application Guidance
Surfaces must be clean, dry, fully cured, and free from dust, grease, loose particles, and flaking paint. New plaster must cure completely before putty is applied — if moisture is still leaving the plaster, the putty and every coat above it will fail together.
Mix to a smooth, workable consistency following the instructions on the pack. Mix thoroughly and allow it to stand briefly so the material hydrates evenly before use.
Apply with a putty knife or steel blade in thin, even layers. Two thin coats consistently outperform one thick one — thick applications shrink and crack as they dry, creating more work than they save. Allow each coat to dry completely before the next.
Once fully dry, sand with appropriate abrasive paper until smooth and level. On ceilings and wide walls, check the sanded surface with a light held close and angled across it — this reveals undulation that normal lighting conceals, and it is the standard worth working to on feature walls.
Remove all sanding dust thoroughly — wipe down rather than brushing off. Then seal before painting, since bare putty is porous and absorbs topcoat unevenly.
Completing the Jotun System
Stucco Putty is the first stage. Seal the sanded surface, then apply your chosen Jotun topcoat.
For interiors, Fenomastic Pure Colours Emulsion Matt is the premium matt option with Jotun’s best colour accuracy, Fenomastic My Home Smooth Silk gives a soft silk sheen with superior washability, and Durosan 02 is the practical everyday choice.
Our team at either DHA store can specify the full system for your project and estimate quantities across every stage.
