Wallman Matt Enamel — Non-Reflective Enamel in Karachi

Wallman Matt Enamel is a durable, non-reflective enamel from Wallman Paints, a Pakistani manufacturer based in Karachi since 1983. Available at Saify Paint House, your authorized Wallman Paints dealer in Karachi, it combines enamel-grade toughness with an understated matte appearance.

Formulated for wood and metal surfaces, it is increasingly specified for interior doors, furniture, and contemporary schemes where a modern, non-reflective finish is preferred over traditional gloss.

Why Matt Enamel Has Grown in Popularity

For decades, wood and metal finishing in Pakistani homes meant gloss by default — it was what enamel offered, and what durability required. Interior design has shifted since, and matt enamel exists to serve that shift without giving up any of enamel’s actual protection.

The practical advantage is how matt handles real-world surfaces. Gloss reflects light off every ridge, dent, and old repair, meaning previously painted or slightly imperfect woodwork needs extensive preparation to look right. Matt absorbs light instead, concealing those minor flaws rather than advertising them — which saves real preparation time on renovation work.

Aesthetically, matt enamel suits contemporary interiors far better than gloss. Where high-shine doors can look dated or stark against matt-finished walls, a matt enamel gives a room a more cohesive, modern appearance throughout.

The durability underneath is unchanged — this is still a genuine enamel, curing hard and protecting the surface beneath exactly as the gloss version does. The only difference is the reflectivity of the finished surface.

For prominent exterior gates and surfaces exposed to weather, Wallman Super Gloss Enamel remains the stronger traditional choice. For interior doors, furniture, and modern schemes, Matt Enamel is the right fit.

Key Features

  • Non-reflective matte finish — Understated, contemporary appearance
  • Durable film — Cures hard, resisting knocks and handling
  • Conceals imperfections — Matt surface hides flaws gloss would reveal
  • Interior and exterior use — Suitable for both on prepared surfaces
  • Good coverage — Reliable hiding power over primed surfaces
  • Smooth application — Applies well by brush, roller, or spray
  • Locally manufactured — Made in Karachi by Wallman Paints
  • Good value — Dependable enamel performance at an accessible price

Recommended Applications

Wallman Matt Enamel suits wood and metal surfaces where a non-reflective finish is preferred:

  • Interior doors, frames, and architraves
  • Furniture, cabinetry, and built-in joinery
  • Window frames and interior woodwork
  • Interior metal fixtures and fittings
  • Contemporary residential and commercial interiors
  • Renovation work over previously painted woodwork

Suitable for properly prepared and primed wood and metal surfaces.

Surface Preparation & Application

Matt enamel is more forgiving than gloss on surface flaws, but preparation still determines durability — the finish may hide a small ridge, but it does not compensate for poor adhesion.

On metal: remove all rust, scale, and loose material back to sound metal, then degrease thoroughly. Apply a rust-inhibiting primer before the enamel — Wallman Red Oxide Primer is the standard choice. Karachi’s coastal humidity means unprimed steel corrodes beneath the film regardless of how good the finish looks initially.

On wood: sand along the grain and remove all dust. Fill nail holes and defects with wood filler, allow to dry, and sand flush. Apply Wallman Synthetic Undercoat to seal bare timber and provide an even base.

On previously painted surfaces: remove loose and flaking material, then sand any existing gloss to provide a key.

Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray, thinning with the appropriate thinner as directed on the pack. Work in thin, even coats — thick application sags on vertical surfaces and extends curing time. Two coats give the best durability and colour uniformity. Allow full drying between coats. Clean equipment with the recommended thinner immediately after use.

Matt or Gloss Enamel?

Saify Paint House stocks both finishes in the Wallman enamel range.

Matt Enamel is the contemporary option — durable, understated, and forgiving on imperfect surfaces. Best for interior doors, furniture, and modern schemes.

Wallman Super Gloss Enamel gives maximum shine and the easiest cleaning — stronger for exterior gates, grills, and surfaces exposed to weather.
