Application Guidance
The surface must be clean, dry, fully cured, and free from dust, loose material, chalking, oil, and grease. Brush down chalky surfaces thoroughly — putty applied over chalk bonds to loose material and comes away with it.
New plaster and render must cure fully before filling. Treat any fungal or algal growth first.
Investigate cracks before filling them. Hairline cracks from normal movement are what this product is for. Wider cracks, or cracks that are actively growing, indicate structural movement that filling will not fix — the crack will simply reopen through the repair.
Mix to a smooth, workable consistency following the instructions on the pack. Apply with a putty knife or steel blade in thin, even layers. Two thin coats outperform one thick one — thick applications shrink and crack as they dry, particularly in Karachi’s heat where the surface skins before the body cures.
Avoid application in direct midday sun. Rapid drying causes shrinkage cracking in the putty itself, and on a hot exterior wall that happens quickly.
