Application Guidance
The surface must be clean, dry, and free from all loose material including efflorescence, dust, grease, and old flaking paint. New plaster must cure fully before filling — if moisture is still leaving the plaster, the putty and every coat above it will fail together.
Stir the putty before use to ensure even consistency throughout the tub.
Apply with a putty knife or steel blade in thin, even layers. Two thin coats consistently outperform one thick one — thick applications shrink and crack as they dry, creating more work than they save. Allow each coat to dry completely before the next.
Once fully dry, level with emery paper until smooth. On feature walls and ceilings, check the sanded surface with a light held close and angled across it — this reveals undulation that normal lighting conceals.
