ZRC Zinc Rich Compound is a high-performance, single-pack cold galvanizing coating formulated with 95% pure metallic zinc for maximum corrosion resistance. Designed to meet SSPC-Paint 20 Type II standards, it provides superior galvanic protection for steel and iron surfaces exposed to harsh environments.
Ideal for industrial maintenance, metal fabrication, weld repair, re-galvanizing worn hot-dip surfaces, and field-applied galvanizing, this satin matte finish coating is suitable for use on antenna towers, bridges, petrochemical plants, marine structures, and cooling towers.
The product features a volume solids content of 52±2%, a weight of 18 lbs per gallon, and a theoretical coverage of 400 ft²/gal at 1.5 mils DFT. It dries to touch within 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on temperature and has a pot life of 24 hours. Maximum service temperature is 399°C (intermittent) and 177°C (constant).
Application methods include brush, roller, low-pressure spray, and airless spray. Surface preparation must meet SSPC-SP1, SP3, SP6, or SP10 depending on substrate condition. The coating is compatible with epoxy, acrylic, urethane, and vinyl topcoats (not alkyd or lacquer).
