Aliphatic Amine Epoxy

Aliphatic Amine Epoxy

A high-solids, Aliphatic Amine Epoxy amine-cured epoxy topcoat with excellent gloss retention—ideal for marine decks, offshore environments, and industrial steel structures.

Aliphatic Amine Epoxy (Mexbond HB100) is a two-component, high-solids epoxy coating designed for atmospheric exposure in demanding environments. Cured with aliphatic amine, it offers excellent gloss retention, low dry spray, and strong adhesion to compatible primers.
Recommended for marine topsides, decks, superstructures, offshore platforms, refineries, power plants, bridges, and industrial buildings, this coating performs reliably even at substrate temperatures as low as –10°C, provided the surface is dry and ice-free.
Available in a limited color range with a glossy finish, it features a volume solids content of 63±2% and a theoretical coverage of 9–12 m²/Ltr/coat at 50 microns DFT. Drying times vary by temperature, with touch dry achieved in 2–6 hours and full cure in 7 days at 20°C. Recoat intervals range from 7 hours to 5 days.
Application methods include brush, roller, conventional spray, and airless spray. The product is packaged in a 4-liter kit (3L base + 1L activator) and requires GCI Comexs Epoxy Thinner for dilution and cleanup. Shelf life is 12 months.
Surface preparation must meet ISO 12944-4 standards, ensuring a clean, dry, and undamaged substrate. Safety precautions include respiratory protection due to crystalline silica content, and proper ventilation during application and sanding.
