Plastisol Epoxy (Mexbond HB910) is a tough, two-component epoxy coating engineered for demanding industrial environments. With excellent abrasion resistance and chemical durability, it is suitable for refineries, power plants, bridges, ethanol tanks, and buildings exposed to weak and strong acids including hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric, and acetic acids (subject to concentration and testing).
This glossy grey finish offers a high volume solids content of 80±2% and a theoretical coverage of 7.0–7.8 m²/Ltr/coat at 50 microns DFT. It supports application via brush, roller, conventional spray, and airless spray systems. The dry film thickness can reach up to 300 microns, with a recoat interval of 36 hours (min) to 4 days (max), and full cure achieved in 7 days at 24°C.
The product is moisture-sensitive and has a short pot life of 2 hours. It requires MEXBOND 999 Epoxy Thinner or Xylene for dilution and cleanup. Shelf life is 3 months, and proper ventilation is essential during application and curing.
Surface preparation must ensure a dry, clean, oil-free substrate. The coating should not be applied when humidity exceeds 85% or temperature drops below 5°C. Safety precautions include respiratory protection due to crystalline silica content.
